The friendship of filmmakers Marc Fusco and Vahik Pirhamzei began over a decade ago with the award winning comedy My Uncle Rafael, based on a character from Pirhamzei’s hit Armenian stage plays. Between the two creative partners, eight films have been produced, sold, and released worldwide, and countless trailers have been created for the leading sales and productions companies in the industry.
So when Vahik, an Armenian from Iran, and Marc, the son of a stonemason from Italy, shook hands and launched a new creative company to support independent and studio films, their first task was to name the new venture. And to celebrate the shoulders on which Marc and Vahik stand, Nico Nazar Creative—named after their fathers, Nicola and Nazar…was born.
